A New Format for Training Future Economists: Joint Classes with a Russian Bank Launched at the Faculty of Economics

News and events

A unique educational project has been launched at the Faculty of Economics of Amur State University: the Department of Finance, in partnership with a Russian bank, have begun co-teaching the "Banking" discipline to third-year students in the "Economics" program.

The hallmark of this format is its hybrid model: lectures are delivered by a professor from Amur State University, while practical sessions take place directly on the bank's premises. This approach enables students to move beyond theoretical study and immediately observe how banking processes function in a real-world environment.

A key element of the project is its international dimension. The study group includes students from Russia, China, Angola, and Mali. This diversity offers a unique opportunity to examine the banking system from various national perspectives.

The first introductory practical session within the framework of the project was held on September 21, 2026, in the bank's training classroom. Bank employees conducted a guided tour for the students, acquainted them with the specifics of banking operations, and presented the work plan for the current semester, which is fully aligned with the official curriculum of the academic discipline.

The project is initially planned for the entire academic year — the exact duration of the "Banking" course. This format of collaboration will grant students access to the bank's infrastructure, allow them to see the inner workings of its departments firsthand, and help them adapt more quickly to their future professional activities.
