All-Russian Festival "SCIENCE 0+" has brought together more than 1,800 schoolchildren and students of the region

For the third year in a row, the Amur State University welcomed the participants of the All-Russian Festival "SCIENCE 0+". In just one week, the university hosted 65 events organized by the university's departments and institutes.

The main participants of the events were schoolchildren, students and scientists. The scientists told the audience in clear and accessible language what science is, what they do, how scientific research improves the quality of life and what prospects it offers to a modern man.

The science festival started on October 21. Students of school No. 27 decided to immerse themselves in science and spent 5 days in university classes. "I can speak for all of us when I say we really like it! Everyone is happy and interested. The best thing is that we are given an opportunity to touch and see everything, and they also tell us exciting things," Radimir Simdyankin shared his impressions.

During this time, high school students learnt more about space technologies, tried themselves at being sociologists and power engineers in virtual reality.

Lyceum students fr om the Amur State University decided to explore the world of criminology. At a practical class conducted by the Dean of the Law Department, Oksana Skorobogatova, the students examined a forensic suitcase and even took fingerprints.

Not only Blagoveshchensk schoolchildren were able to get into science, but also schoolchildren from Svobodny came to the regional capital to become a part of the All-Russian scientific event. In one day they got know about the Department of Social Sciences and the Institute of Computer and Engineering Sciences. "I really enjoyed this event! Today thanks to the interactive classes we were briefed on several fields of study, I learnt what exams I need to pass to become an AmSU student in the new academic year," said festival participant Darya Tsatsurina.

The festival also included a pitch session "Projects of the Future", wh ere 12 student teams presented their research in creative industries, IT, and innovative technical developments. Furthermore, from 21 to 26 October participants were expected to play quest games, take interactive tours, participate in workshops, debates, visit exhibitions, and watch scientific films.

Each participant of this event returned home with a diploma and a souvenir. The schoolchildren got calendars, badges, bracelets, ribbons and stickers.
