Аn online meeting was held between Amur State University (AmGU) and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). UTeM is a specialized university focused on engineering, information technology, and management sciences. The institution boasts research expertise in areas such as eco-technology, systems engineering, and human-computer interaction.
The student body of UTeM represents diverse countries including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Chad, Syria, Pakistan, Cameroon, Bangladesh, Tanzania, India, Somalia, Singapore, Qatar, Palestine, Libya, Iraq, Iran, Ghana, France, Yemen, Nigeria, and Jordan.
During the meeting, both universities presented their institutions, highlighting existing faculties, programs, infrastructure, and various activities conducted within each academic community.
As a result of the discussion, the parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and exchange information regarding ongoing projects where mutual participation of faculty members and students could be possible. This includes opportunities related to academic mobility and joint scientific initiatives with grant funding.
One proposed project involves the Sixth Mathematical Olympiad organized by AmGU's Institute of Computer Science and Engineering. International students who excel in the competition may subsequently pursue studies under Russia’s Government quota program, which offers free tuition funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
