The staff of Amur State University are currently in Hong Kong, preparing for the finals of the international space development competition. Additionally, the AmSU team is the only Russian team to reach the finals.
To get to the event, the university's representatives had to travel a long distance: they crossed the Amur River by boat and ended up in Heihe, then drove to Harbin (due to weather conditions, they had to switch modes of transportation three times), then flew through turbulent air to Beijing, and finally switched trains at the airport to Hong Kong.
Recall that at the International Space Science and Scientific Payload Competition organized with the support of the Chinese Society of Astronautics, AmSU's team presented a project they had been working on for over a year - an instrument for small spacecraft to study contamination.
The final of the competition will take place from August 11-13 in Hong Kong, where the winners will receive cash prizes, recommendations for participation in space projects such as the Chinese Space Station and the ISS, professional support from academic and industry experts, and comprehensive assistance with technical and design aspects, as well as sponsorship.
The International Space Science and Scientific Payload Competition is dedicated to the full and effective use of space resources, promoting major scientific discoveries and technological breakthroughs in the aerospace field, stimulating the development of aerospace technologies, and promoting the mechanism for the exchange of innovative achievements. Since 2022, ISSSP has attracted more than 1,000 participants from almost 80 universities and 50 countries.
With little time remaining before the finals, let us support AmSU and wish them well!
