On May 7-10, representatives of the Amur State University worked in the People's Republic of China. Natalia Roiba, the Head of the International Affairs Office, Lyubov Stanishevskaya, Associate Professor of the Department of Design and Anna Rakhmanova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Design, gave a presentation of our university at the North-East Asia Art & Design Expo in Harbin. During the trip, new partnerships were established with Harbin educational institutions, which train specialists in the field of art and design.
Natalia Roiba, the Head of the International Affairs Office of AmSU said: "The central topics of the meetings at Harbin universities were the creation of joint educational programs in design, including the opening of practice bases, short-term exchange programs for students studying fine arts and design".
The day before the opening of the exhibition, the AmSU delegation visited the Heilongjiang Agricultural Reclamation Vocational College, where more than 10,000 students study. The delegation of the AmSU was warmly welcomed at the educational institution. The institution's representatives conducted an introductory tour of the institution and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
During the visit, Liu Jihe, the Rector of the college, spoke about the areas of training implemented at the educational institution and expressed interest in cooperation in the field of joint training of specialists in the field of art, design and technology.
On May 8, the AmSU delegation visited the Department of Arts of the Northeastern Agricultural University, which is one of the leading universities in China and is a participant in the Chinese "Project 211". This project includes 100 leading universities in China, where specialists are trained to implement national projects in the economic and social spheres.
The AmSU delegation was welcomed by Liu Zhuqing, the Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Li Tiguan, the Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Academic Exchanges, Yu Xiangong, the Secretary of the Party Committee of the Academy of Arts and Liu Dan, the Dean of the Department of Arts.
The university has 19 faculties, which are mainly of agricultural profile. However, the university has an Academy and a Department of Arts. A tour of the laboratories of the Department and the Academy of Arts impressed our specialists with a variety of opportunities, approaches and techniques, as well as the proficiency of Chinese teachers.
Also, the AmSU team made a presentation to students of the Department of Arts about the university, creative activities of the university and educational opportunities at the Department of Design and Technology.
Liu Dan, the Dean of the Department, expressed hope for the rapprochement of faculties and the creation of joint projects, because the two creative faculties have enough common ground. Now Northeastern Agricultural University and Amur State University are united not only by joint work in the Association of Universities of the Far East of Russia and Northeastern China, but also by the cooperation of our creative departments.
On May 9, a meeting was held at the Academy of Fashion Industry and Creative Design and at the Department of Art and Design of Harbin University. AmSU previously had experience of cooperation with Harbin University in the field of Russian language training. Amur State University hosted a delegation of the Department of Art and Design of the Harbin university on a study visit. The return visit of the Department of Design and Technology of AmSU became possible thanks to the invitation to the exhibition.
The delegation of the AmSU was greatly interested in visiting the laboratories of environmental design, clothing design, graphic design, ceramics, woodworking, calligraphy, engraving, watercolor and oil painting, photography. Our teachers were astounded by the new technique of ceramic products coating "Ice and Snow" (bingxue) discovered by the experts of Harbin University.
Zhang Weihong, a famous Chinese artist with Russian roots, teacher of the Heilongjiang Academy of Painting, was touched by the arrival of the Russian delegation and presented his watercolor composition to the Department of Design and Technology of the AmSU as a gift.
Also, during the trip, a working meeting was held with the Inter Plus company, a partner of the Amur State University. On the Great Victory Day, Harbin University and Inter Plus warmly welcomed our delegation, they emphasized Russia's contribution to the fight against fascism and the strengthening of Russian-Chinese friendship.
At the end of the visit of the AmSU delegation to Harbin, a meeting was held with the leadership of the first vocational middle school of the city of Changchun. The school specializes in preparing children for admission to creative institutions. The management of the educational institution is interested in establishing contacts with the Department of Design and Technology of AmSU for targeted training for admission to creative specialties. Li Luan, the school's Principal, expressed his intentions for cooperation and noted the need for serious language training of school graduates by teachers of the preparatory department for foreign citizens of AmSU.
