News and events

"Sociopolis" is a quiz for foreign students, aimed at covering various social aspects of life in Russia: knowledge of the main authorities to turn to in various situations, organization of the Russian state, important memorable dates of Russian history, certain legislative issues and so on.

In total, seven teams competed in an intellectual competition. On this day, about 80 students gathered at the Advanced Professional Training Centre ! During several rounds, the participants not only gained new knowledge, but also united.

"I enjoyed this event because I was in a team with my friends and three new people I met already on the spot. It was nice that at the end we got a certificate and a clay kitty," said Bupe Chanda, a student from Zambia.

Thanks to the quiz, foreign students have increased their knowledge of life in Russia, learned the rules of responding to different situations, and also improved their communication skills and socialized in a new environment.

The team of the Institute of Computer and Engineering Sciences was the winner, the "EconomTeam" won the silver medal, and the bronze medal went to "Road to Russia" team from the Philological Department.

The event was held as part of the "Open Dialogue" discussion club initiated by the focal point on the development of active citizenship among young people, prevention of interethnic and interconfessional conflicts, countering the ideology of terrorism and prevention of extremism.
