On April 19, the Far Eastern networking conference “Special employment: development of regional programmes for the support of young people with special needs in employment” was held. It was organized by the Pacific National University resource Educational and Methodological Center for training of people with disabilities.
The conference discussed changes in legislation, job quotas for hiring special groups of people, including graduates of higher education organizations. The speakers outlined a range of issues related to helping people with disabilities take up employment at the state and regional levels. Participants discussed issues and prospects of employees from the position of HR, talked about how PR campaigns work to promote employment of people with disabilities, considered the issues of teaching students with disabilities the basics of employment techniques, creating accessible educational environment and many more.
The Head of the Center for Inclusive Education Lilit Gosteva and the Head of the Career Development Center Nikolay Boltenkov took part in the conference and represented AmSU.
In his report, Nikolay Vladimirovich told about the practice of employment promotion and career assistance for students with disabilities at the university in form of individual assistance.
