The results of the competition among universities and scientific organizations for subsidies for space projects have been announced. A total of 24 institutions have been recognized as winners, including such prestigious names as the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow State University, MIPT, MEPhI, Samara University, Skoltech, and others.

Amur State University (AmGU) secured the 11th place in the ranking, surpassing many formidable competitors. This success is attributed to the university's tangible experience: its scientists, together with students and colleagues from Harbin Institute of Technology, developed and launched the first Russian-Chinese student satellite, "Friendship ATURK". The project spanned several years and was complicated by the challenges of the pandemic. Another significant achievement was the launch of the first university satellite in the Far East, "AmurSat (AmGU-1)", which was sent into orbit from Vostochny Cosmodrome in 2019. These projects were carried out by the university with support from partners, including the Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics at Lomonosov Moscow State University.

As part of the federal project "Personnel for Space", AmGU will receive over 26 million rubles. These funds will be used by students and young scientists to design, assemble, and patent a small satellite of the CubeSat 3U format. The work will be conducted at the K.E. Tsiolkovsky Scientific and Educational Center.

The competition's requirements are stringent: most of the components must not be purchased ready-made but developed and manufactured by the university team itself. All proprietary solutions must be patented, and the project must be completed by the end of 2026.

In parallel, the team is required to conduct educational events for students, engaging them in real-world space engineering. Faculty from the Department of Launch and Technical Rocket Complexes will assist in this effort.

"The victory of Amur State University is a recognition from the Ministry of Science and Education of the Russian Federation that the development of the aerospace sector in the Amur region has reached a high and significant level. We are proud of this achievement and will continue to work on training qualified personnel for the national space industry," commented Acting Rector Alexey Svishchev
