In China, people celebrate the most significant and grand traditional festival—the Spring Festival, or Chunjie (Spring Festival / Chinese New Year).
On February 17th, students from groups 533-Ob ("Oriental Studies and African Studies"), 431-Ob ("Foreign Regional Studies"), and 331-Ob ("Foreign Regional Studies") came together to mark the occasion. Those specializing in the study of China couldn't miss out on this important event!
Second-year female students prepared a presentation explaining the history of the festival, its role in the lives of Chinese people, and its cultural significance.
Third-year students hosted a quiz to identify true experts in the traditions of celebrating Chunjie.
Second-year students prepared and performed a song in Mandarin dedicated to each day of the New Year cycle.
At the end of the event, professors from the Sinology department, Julia Sergeevna Sukhina and Evgeniya Viktorovna Bereza, surprised everyone with a fun activity: they offered to create cards featuring the character 福 (“Happiness”) together.
