On April 29, the International Mathematical Olympiad was held for the first time at the university. The event was hosted by the Chair of Mathematical Analysis and Modeling.
Participants of the Olympiad were students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and the Faculty of Engineering and Physics of AmSU, as well as students of Heihei University. 14 students represented AmSU, 51 - a foreign university.
The idea to hold a mathematical Olympiad together with Heihe University arose a long time ago, but it was impossible to implement it because of the closure of the state borders. As a result, the event was decided to be held in a remote format.
– AmSU was able to enlist the support of the teachers of Heihe University. They were perfectly prepared for the event, organized the students, and clearly followed our instructions – "said Nadezhda Maksimova, the chairman of the organizing committee of the Olympiad, Associate Professor, Head of the Chair of Mathematical Analysis and Modeling. – The teachers of our chair have compiled a block of Olympiad tasks, which includes tasks in mathematical analysis, algebra and geometry, complex analysis, differential equations and probability theory.
Students solved problems at the same time. For transparency and openness, during the competition, a video conference was being held between universities.
The organizing committee will check the students ' work and summarize the results of the Olympiad, as well as hold the award ceremony, which will also be held in an online format.
