The Department of Russian Language, Communication, and Journalism congratulates Master's student Jiang Jiahui (group 597-Om1) on her victory in the special contest for foreign students titled "WOW! RUSSIA." This creative challenge launched in November 2025 as part of the national initiative "Youth and Children," supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.
The competition aimed to unite international students into a single community while promoting Russian education abroad. Participants were tasked with creating a social media post popular in their native country, sharing stories in their mother tongue about their lives, studies, and cultural discoveries in Russia.
Jiang Jiahui, known in Russia as Nadezhda, has long been passionate about blogging and creates video content about life in the Russo-Chinese border region. For the "Study Without Filters" category, she prepared an intriguing video clip, sharing her unique experience of simultaneously pursuing two master's degrees at AmGU—Pedagogical Education (Fine Arts) and Philology (Russian Language in Intercultural Communication).
“Studying two master's programs at once is certainly challenging. I often need to manage multiple tasks: finish work in the studio and learn new material in philology. Sometimes it gets tiring, but over time I've noticed how these two fields complement each other. Artistic perception makes me more sensitive to language nuances, and studying language helps me structure teaching methods more clearly. I'm very grateful to Amur State University for giving me the opportunity to study two beloved programs,” said the winner.
The "WOW! RUSSIA" competition received widespread response among international students: organizers received 927 applications from 532 students representing 83 universities across Russia.
Following the competition, Jiang Jiahui became one of the selected participants invited to Moscow for educational training at the Management Workshop "Senezh"—an educational center of the platform "Russia—a Land of Opportunity." The training will take place in April 2026 and marks a new stage of professional and creative growth for the talented student.
