On November 14 Russia and the world hosted the annual International educational action of the Russian geographical society "Geographic dictation". Traditionally, the action was also held on the basis of the Amur State University, the organizer was the department of international business and tourism of the faculty of international relations.
This year the AmSU site has worked online and has brought together more than 300 participants - students and teachers of AmSU, schoolchildren and teachers of the city of Blagoveshchensk and the Amur Region, public figures and others.
The international action is annually held by the Russian geographical society on the initiative of the chairman of the board of trustees of the society and president of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin. The main goal of the Geographical dictation is to popularize geographical knowledge and increase interest in the geography of Russia among the population of the country and the world.
An intellectual journey across Russia united all the country's regions from the shores of the Sea of Japan to the Baltic across all 11 time zones, participants from Canada and Bolivia, Norway and France, Algeria and South Africa, as well as from Australia, India, Japan and other countries. This year the Geographical dictation was written in 106 foreign countries.
The participants were able to test their knowledge of the geography of Russia and discover our amazing country from an unusual, previously unnoticeable angle. The 45 minutes allotted for completing the assignments flew by unnoticed. The questions were divided into simple and more complex ones, requiring concentration and broad outlook on the part of the participants. Many questions were related to the modern activities of the Russian geographical society: expeditions, discoveries, monuments. The test, as always, was very interesting, it tasks once again showed how incredibly interesting the science of geography is.
Individual results of writing the dictation will be published on the site from December 6th. All participants in the Geographical Dictation will receive certificates from the Russian geographical society.
