The construction of this facility was made possible by the Agreement signed at the WEF by the Chairman of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Yuri Kulchin; the Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov and the Rector of the Amur State University Andrey Plutenko.
The International Campus will house educational, administrative, engineering laboratory, paleontology buildings, a primary sample processing module, modern dormitories, as well as sports facilities, part of which will be the ice arena. As stated in the Agreement, the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, The Earth History Museum and the International Center for Geology and Dynamics of Natural Systems of Asia will also be located there.
"The construction of the campus is of great importance to us. It’s a part of a development plan of Blagoveshchensk, which was approved by the president’s decision last year. The initial stage of the design is already underway – this is the Florensky building. The second step should be the construction of several dormitories, including apartments for teachers, which can be used as part of the Rental Housing program. And the third stage is the placement of premises on the campus for the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, which has unique competences in the field of natural resources management. We need to provide them with appropriate conditions. The agreement signed confirms the interest in the implementation of this project", – commented on Vasily Orlov, the governor of the Amur region.
The main building will be the Florensky building, which will combine a design bureau, a multifunctional hall, an exhibition space, animation, recordings studios, and a VR&AR laboratory. It will also house offices of large companies: Sberbank and Atlas Mining.
The highlight will be the roof, which can be accessed in the warm season. The facility is planned to be built on the corner of Ignatievskoye Highway and Studencheskaya Street.
