The graduate student from AmSU gave a presentation at the XI European-Asian Symposium on Economic Theory, titled "Economic Theory: Searching for Development Alternatives"

News and events

The European-Asian Symposium was devoted to the conceptual foundations of mainstream and political economy, alternative directions of development of theoretical economics, mechanisms of interaction of economic theories in the construction of a new world order, as well as the contribution of economic theory to solving problems such as expansion of new technologies, inequality, environmental justice, globalization and regionalization in a polycentric world.

Sergey Khmura, a junior researcher at the laboratory, presented the results of a study on the topic "A Conceptual Model of a Regional Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in a Digital Environment", which was funded by the RNF grant 23-28-00044.

He gave a presentation on the phenomenon of resilience in the evolutionary development of entrepreneurial ecosystems. The study was conducted in collaboration with Milena Anatolyevna Yakimova, PhD in Economics, and Svetlana Valentinovna Pankova, professor at Orenburg State University.

In his report, Sergey revealed the features of the state of resistance of ecosystems operating in a cross-border economy. He highlighted the approaches to the study of the essence of "resistance" and gave a graphical interpretation of the cycle model. Based on the theory of complexity and evolutionary economics, he studied the cycles of development of the most demonstrative ecosystems concentrated in border regions of Russia over the period 2018-2023. He identified their common and distinctive features. When identifying the phenomenon of resistance, he took into account the volume of foreign investments and export-import operations of enterprises belonging to these ecosystems.

The results of the study, expressed in the form of cyclic models and resistance strategies, can be used to manage entrepreneurial ecosystems. The report is intended for publication as a collection of articles based on the symposium's results and will be indexed in Scopus.

During the three-day symposium, more than 200 scientists and experts in the field of economics from the Russian Federation, USA, China, Japan, Malaysia and Latin American countries as well as CIS countries discussed the impact of internet technologies on economic growth, the challenges of globalization and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in developing economic theories.
