This day is celebrated as the 60th anniversary of the First Human Space Flight.

On this Day - April 12, 1961 the first manned space flight made on by the Russian Soviet cosmonaut Yuri A. Gagarin. Gagarin's flight opened a new era in the history of space exploration.

Cosmonautics Day is an all-round the World holiday that connects the past, present and future of the people of the Earth. Cosmonautics Day is a day of great pride for Russians, a symbol of the power of our state.

World Aviation and Cosmonautics Day is a particularly significant holiday for our university. Today, AmSU not only trains space specialists, but also conducts various researches in the field of near-Earth space exploration, organizes major events, works on its own satellites and payloads, and even sends them into space.

We are happy to congratulate everyone who, through their work, studies and research, develops and strengthens the space industry in Russia; we wish all of them further success in space exploration.
